Worship following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions

Currently all our Sunday services are at Church. We continue to take Covid precautions to keep all the congregation safe; face masks are encouraged, particularly when singing. Please see below for the latest information on Church service times.

Our Zoom services which saw us through the period of Covid restrictions have now been suspended. (Except on Sunday 28th December 2025)

Live streaming of 10:30 Sunday services

With our broadband capability at Church upgraded and some improved technology, we are now looking to provide more online services so that anyone who cannot join us physically at Church, for whatever reason, can participate in our worship together.

Important notice for those attending a service that is being livestreamed

The camera view normally includes the front two rows of seats and families with children are advised not to sit here. In addition, anyone wishing not to be identifiable should use a seat that is not in the front three rows. If you sit in a seat in the front three rows your consent to being filmed for live streaming/recording will be presumed. The camera view will be changed during a communion service so that communicants are not filmed.

Our current pattern of Services over a month

We aim to have biblical preaching and a combination of styles of service from traditional & formal, to contemporary & informal. The monthly pattern of our Sunday services is evolving. Currently the pattern is as follows:

Special Services

There are several special services during the year offering a number of different styles.  These include youth-led services and united services with Purton Methodist Church.

Getting Involved

The ’ministry of the pew’ is open to everyone! First and foremost, be there, as it says in Hebrews 10 v24, to “be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good.” 

And, being there, why not volunteer for a regular commitment to one of the many ministries that help to enhance our worship:

Sidespersons – to welcome!

Readers – to read the Word of God

Intercessions – to lead us in prayer

Communion assistants – to help in the distribution of communion (training provided)

Servers – to assist the celebrant (training provided)

Singers – to lead us in singing (as part of the choir and/or the singers group)

Musicians – to fill the church with music

Bell-ringing – to call us joyfully to church

Help to set-up for services e.g. organising materials, setting up equipment and tidying up afterwards. And also help with Refreshments!

There are also roles to assist in planning and organising services – to review developments in worship and consider new liturgical settings – both for traditional and modern forms.
