Service Plans as St Marys Church is gradually re-opened

We continue to look forward to welcoming the Church Family and the Community back into St Mary’s Church in the months ahead.   We still hope to have a grand re-opening service on Sunday 5th September at 10.30am with the Bishop of Bristol, when together we can thank God for His provision for our needs and mourn the grief and loss many have experienced in the past 18 months.

However whilst Covid Restrictions remain we will aim to do the following for  the remainder of June and for July 2021 - but if the Restrictions are not released as anticipated we may not be able to do as much in the St Mary’s Building as we hoped.  Also it is proving to be more of a challenge than we initially imagined to manage the technology so that we can have a service on Zoom and in the Building at the same time.  We do want if at all possible to continue to cater for both parts of our congregation, and ideally to provide a quality act of worship for both.

We still want to remain Covid secure and so we will aim to have a clear 48 hours between services to reduce the need to have a deep clean between each service.  We still hope to be able to have baptism services and midweek funeral services, though with some restrictions on numbers.  Hopefully in the weeks ahead restrictions may ease and we may be able to put on more services, and perhaps to open the Church for private prayer.  Please bear with us in this time of change as we seek to provide events and services both to help people to get to know Christ better and to make Christ known to our community.  Once again please plan to come and join us for a celebration to mark the official re-opening of St Mary’s Church on 5th September.  To book a place at any of the live (in-Church) services please phone the Church Warden - Sandra Horsnall on 01793 770157.  For more information visit our website www.stmaryspurton.org.uk   Facebook St. Mary’s Church, Purton, Wiltshire or email vicarage@stmaryspurton.org.uk or phone 01793 770077.
